Preparation is underway for the Annual Clean Up April 13th. This annual event is held the second Saturday of April. Its a day filled with raking, scooping, dumping, laughter and a great lunch. This year we will also be planting trees.
Daily parking passes will be available for Saturday to those volunteering to work for Friends in the park. See Gina, Liz or Anna for a pass when you come to sign in.
Our lunch will be graciously and generously provided by Karen and Ken Speck along with Pat Muffett. Our lecture will be presented by Carson Sprenger, with Rainshadow Consulting LLC. Carson will provide information about Laminated Root Rot and be available for questions relating to the fungus. You can learn more about Carson and his business Rainshadow Consulting LLC.
With the impact of staff cuts in our state park, Moran needs the extra hands. After the fall and winter storms sometimes there are a lot of big branches that would be in the way when a camper wants to put up their tent. Sometimes other debris like rocks have found their way into camp sites and that’s really not comfortable no matter how thick your sleeping bag is!
So come out and help us prepare to dazzle the visitors with the natural beauty and for another busy camping season. Its a great way to welcome spring and celebrate upcoming Earth Day.
Bring your gloves, rakes and your friends. We’ll look forward to seeing you in the Cascade Lake day use shelter.
